HSE Coordinator

About the role

The HSE Coordinator will be responsible for implementing, maintaining and continuously improving the Occupational Health and Safety Management System for the Baranoa PV Plant in Colombia. Reporting to the regional HSE team, the role serves as the local OHS authority for both the administration offices and the project site.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and update the OHS Management System documentation, including policy, annual plan, hazard identification, risk matrix, procedures, forms, assessments and performance indicators.
• Monitor compliance with Colombian occupational health, safety and social security regulations and keep the legal register current.
• Prepare and submit annual self‑assessment, improvement plans and periodic reports to the occupational risk insurer, government entities and corporate HSE reporting framework.
• Coordinate joint occupational health and safety committees, workplace coexistence committee and emergency brigade, ensuring meetings, minutes and statutory functions are fulfilled.
• Maintain the hazard identification and risk assessment matrix, updating it after any operational, personnel or facility changes.
• Investigate workplace accidents, prepare incident reports, follow up on corrective actions and report severe incidents to the Ministry of Labor and insurers within legal timeframes.
• Execute the emergency response plan, including drills and simulations.
• Coordinate medical surveillance programmes with accredited providers and maintain the workforce epidemiological profile.

Required profile

• Proven experience in occupational health and safety management, preferably in the renewable energy or industrial sector.
• Strong knowledge of Colombian OHS legislation, social security regulations and reporting requirements.
• Ability to lead and support joint safety committees and emergency response teams.
• Experience conducting risk assessments, incident investigations and implementing corrective actions.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills to interact with internal stakeholders, insurers and regulatory bodies.
