Insurance Rating Engineer

About the role

CGI is looking for a senior Software Engineer with deep experience in insurance rating systems. You will design, build, and maintain pricing logic within a Ratabase‑based rating engine, ensuring accurate and compliant premium generation across multiple products and jurisdictions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain complex rate calculations, rating configurations, and premium generation using Java, RESTEasy, SOAP, XML/JSON and enterprise integration patterns.
• Lead AI‑assisted development using GitHub Copilot or Gemini, optimizing prompts, integrating tools into daily workflows, and reporting efficiency gains.
• Provide technical leadership on architecture, design reviews, code reviews, performance tuning (JVM, threading, profiling) and hybrid on‑prem/cloud deployments.
• Design, implement and version rating tables, rulesets and worksheets, collaborating with actuarial teams and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Required profile

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 3+ years in insurance rating engine development.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Conversational English (B2) and strong problem‑solving skills.
