International Personal Injury Lien Negotiator

About the role

A U.S. personal injury law firm is hiring an experienced, detail-oriented Lien Negotiator for a fully remote position open to international applicants. The role resolves outstanding medical balances and liens, negotiates reductions and helps move settled cases toward timely disbursement.

Key responsibilities

• Review settlement files to identify outstanding medical bills, liens and reimbursement claims.
• Contact medical providers, hospitals, lienholders and collection agencies to verify balances and negotiate reductions under attorney direction.
• Coordinate with attorneys and case managers on negotiation strategy and required approvals.
• Follow up consistently on pending requests, disputed balances and unresolved liens.
• Obtain written confirmation of approved reductions and final payoff amounts.
• Maintain accurate notes, balances, negotiation history and supporting documents in the case management system.
• Assist with Medicare, Medicaid, health insurance and other lien resolution processes as assigned.
• Flag discrepancies, competing claims and issues requiring attorney review.

Required profile

• Prior experience negotiating medical bills or liens for a U.S. personal injury law firm.
• Strong written and spoken English; excellent negotiation, communication and follow-up skills.
• Understanding of personal injury settlements, medical billing and lien resolution.
• Ability to manage a high-volume workload and meet deadlines.
• Reliable internet, a quiet workspace and availability during designated U.S. business hours.
• Ability to handle confidential client and medical information with discretion.

Required skills

• Experience with Filevine, Litify, SmartAdvocate or similar software preferred.
• Comfort reviewing financial figures and attention to detail.
