About the role
Arup is looking for a Junior BIM Technician to support the development, testing, maintenance and deployment of BIM content and digital workflows that enable its global multidisciplinary project delivery. Working under the guidance of senior BIM professionals, the role turns technical requirements, sketches and reference information into reliable, reusable digital content, and also provides project-focused BIM support, model coordination and information management assistance. As capability grows, the role expands into broader BIM delivery and digital enablement.
Key responsibilities

- Configure family categories, subcategories, visibility settings, detail levels, materials, connectors and room calculation points.
- Create and maintain 2D symbolic content, nested content, clearance zones, maintenance zones, mounting options and rotation functionality.
- Test families across dimensional ranges and load them into test projects to check graphical behaviour, scheduling, tagging, parameters, performance and compatibility with project templates.
- Maintain clear working files so content can be reviewed, audited and reused by the wider Global team.
- Coordinate with BIM specialists, engineers and discipline reviewers, and report progress and risks promptly.
Required profile
- Technical, technological degree in drafting of architecture or engineering, or professional degree in architecture or engineering.
- Demonstrable experience creating or modifying loadable Revit families; preferred: at least 3 years of Revit use, possibly through employment, internships or academic projects.

- Fluent English, organised and detail-oriented, able to take ownership of tasks and work collaboratively.
Required skills
- Working proficiency in Autodesk Revit, especially the Family Editor.
- Understanding of reference planes, constraints, parameters, formulas, family types, nested families and visibility controls.
- Ability to interpret technical sketches, manufacturer information, schedules and written family specifications.
- Knowledge of Dynamo, programming, Revit API, Forma, Navisworks or content-management platforms is useful but not essential.
What we offer
- Competitive, fair and equitable pay.
- Health and welfare benefits, paid time off and a wide range of learning opportunities.
- A Global Profit Share plan paid bi-annually.
- Flexible working, including alternative schedules and the option to work outside the office part of the week.
