LATAM Trade Operations Lead

About the role

The LATAM Trade & Transportation Lead is a senior position within Johnson & Johnson's global supply chain function, responsible for overseeing transportation networks and trade compliance across Latin America. The role ensures reliable, cost‑efficient, and compliant product movement from manufacturing sites to distribution centers, hospitals, and distributors.

Key responsibilities

• Provide regional trade leadership, ensuring compliance with customs, import/export, and trade regulations across all LATAM operating countries.
• Oversee and standardize trade processes, controls, and documentation to maintain audit readiness.
• Drive value through optimized transportation flows for inbound and outbound freight, managing relationships with logistics providers and control‑tower partners.
• Lead performance measurement of transport reliability and deliver cost‑improvement and productivity targets.
• Partner with regional and global supply chain, quality, finance, and legal teams to enable compliant product movement and resolve issues.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, International Trade or related field; Master’s or MBA preferred.
• 6–8 years progressive experience in supply chain, transportation, trade compliance or related operational roles at manager level.
• Strong knowledge of international trade, customs regulations and import/export operations within Latin America.
• Experience working in a matrixed, multinational organization and managing complex operational issues.

Required skills

• International trade and customs compliance expertise.
• Transportation management, carrier and logistics‑provider management, including control‑tower models.
• Budgeting, financial reconciliation and cost‑saving analysis.
• Familiarity with trade automation tools, transportation management systems (TMS) and ERP platforms.
• Analytical skills with strong affinity for numbers.
