Lead Design & Estimation Engineer (Fire Fighting Systems)

About the role

We are looking for a Lead Design & Estimation Engineer to head fire‑fighting system engineering and cost estimation for projects based in Colombia. The role combines technical leadership, commercial strategy and team management across high‑rise, industrial and infrastructure projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead fire‑protection engineering operations for multiple projects, reviewing hydraulic calculations, fire‑pump designs and alternative solutions.
• Ensure compliance with international and local standards and drive constructability‑focused optimisation.
• Oversee the estimation department: develop BOQ/MTO, validate pricing, define bid strategies and conduct commercial risk reviews.
• Lead value‑engineering initiatives, negotiate with suppliers and support strategic procurement.
• Manage engineering and estimation teams, set QA/QC standards, mentor staff and monitor KPIs for design accuracy and tender success.
• Coordinate with consultants, clients, contractors and civil‑defence authorities to secure approvals and present technical/commercial reviews.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Fire‑Protection Engineering.
• 10‑15+ years of fire‑protection engineering and estimation experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Proven ability to manage multi‑project engineering operations.
• Relevant certifications such as CFPS, NFPA 13/20/25/92, Procore Estimation.
