Lead Design & Estimation Engineer (Fire Fighting Systems)

About the role

To manage the engineering and estimation functions based in Colombia for fire protection projects, ensuring technical excellence, commercial competitiveness, authority compliance, and operational efficiency. The Lead Design & Estimation Engineer will oversee multiple projects and tender operations while driving engineering strategy, cost optimization, and team performance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead fire protection engineering operations across multiple projects, review and approve hydraulic calculations, fire pump designs, and ensure compliance with international and local standards.
• Oversee estimation activities including BOQ/MTO development, pricing validation, bid strategy, commercial risk reviews, and value engineering to improve profitability.
• Manage engineering and estimation teams, establish workflows, QA/QC standards, mentor staff, and monitor KPIs for design accuracy and tender success.
• Interface with consultants, clients, contractors, and Civil Defence authorities, lead authority approval strategies and present technical and commercial reviews to senior management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Fire Protection Engineering or equivalent.
• 10–15+ years of experience in fire protection engineering and estimation, with at least 5 years in a leadership or managerial role.
• Proven experience managing multi‑project engineering operations and leading estimation teams.
• Strong knowledge of international and local fire protection standards and authority approval processes.

Required skills

• Familiarity with Procore Estimation, BIM/Revit coordination (preferred).
