Lead Security Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Lead Security Engineer to protect EPAM’s systems, data and infrastructure from evolving cyber threats. In this senior position you will guide security initiatives, collaborate with cross‑functional teams and continuously improve security processes, tools and practices.

Key responsibilities

• Create, roll out and maintain security policies, standards and procedures that safeguard IT systems and confidential data.
• Tri­age cybersecurity requests, manage security intake queues and ensure timely resolution.
• Develop, review and audit Python‑based automation scripts that streamline IAM workflows and increase operational productivity.
• Administer access rights and entitlements based on least‑privilege and separation‑of‑duties principles.
• Maintain alignment with regulations and industry standards, supporting internal and external audit engagements.
• Track security metrics, identify improvement opportunities and launch initiatives to strengthen the security posture.
• Partner with IT, DevOps and development teams to embed security throughout the software development and deployment lifecycles.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in cybersecurity operations or a comparable role.
• At least 1 year of experience leading and managing development teams.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Excellent English (B2+ level) – spoken and written.
