Mine Commercial Manager

About the role

The Mine Commercial Manager (MCM) acts as the primary finance business partner for the mine, reporting to the Mine General Manager and supporting the VP Business Development. The MCM leads all commercial and financial aspects of mine planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance measurement.

Key responsibilities

• Lead annual budgeting, rolling forecasts, re‑forecasts and long‑range financial planning aligned with corporate templates.
• Develop, maintain and update detailed operating cost models, including unit costs, cost drivers and variance analysis.
• Build and sustain capital cost models (life‑of‑mine and short‑term) with depreciation and consumption assumptions.
• Prepare, review and manage Allowance for Expenditure (AFE) packages, from cost estimates to approval routing and tracking.
• Conduct “what‑if” and scenario analyses (commodity price, grade, throughput, cost shocks) to quantify financial impact.
• Deliver ROI, NPV, payback and sensitivity analyses for capital projects and cost‑improvement initiatives.
• Partner with operations, procurement, geology and corporate FP&A to translate technical plans into financial metrics.

Required profile

• Strong mining finance experience, preferably with underground gold operations.
• Advanced financial modelling skills and proven ability to build cost and capital models.
• Excellent stakeholder management and clear communication in both Spanish and English.
• Proficiency with Excel and Business Intelligence tools.
• Hands‑on experience with AFE documentation and capital controls.
