Ocean Export and Import Coordinator

About the role

Rhenus is seeking an Ocean Export and Import Coordinator to manage international ocean shipments from booking through delivery. You will act as the central point of contact for customers, agents, vendors, and internal teams, ensuring smooth operations and compliance with all regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate ocean export and import shipments, optimizing routes and tracking progress.
• Prepare and process shipping documents such as BOL, AWB, invoices, and EEI.
• Maintain accurate shipment records, costing, quoting, and billing information.
• Provide timely status updates to stakeholders and resolve operational or system issues.
• Ensure compliance with FMC, NVOCC regulations, and INCOTERMS 2020.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in logistics or transportation, handling international ocean shipments.
• Associate degree, vocational training, or at least two years of college coursework in a related field.
• US export/import compliance training preferred; Ocean DG training is a plus.
• Fluent in English (both written and spoken); additional language skills are a benefit.
• Ability to multitask, work under pressure, and adapt to Rhenus systems.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office suite.
• Knowledge of ACE system (preferred).
• Understanding of FMC and NVOCC regulations.
• Familiarity with INCOTERMS 2020.
• Experience preparing BOL, AWB, invoices, and EEI documents.
