People Lead

About the role

Cloud9 is seeking a People Lead to own and scale the team’s performance engine. This role is focused on building a data‑driven scorecard system, weekly cadence, and accountability framework that drives every employee toward their quarterly targets.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement a real‑time scorecard for each role, linking clear goals to measurable outcomes.
• Establish and run a weekly performance cadence—including 1:1s, team tactical meetings, and review rhythms—with no dead weeks.
• Drive data‑backed accountability conversations, ensuring under‑performers receive clear feedback and actionable plans.
• Build the Management Operating System from scratch and transition ownership to team leads.
• Collaborate with AI tools to draft scorecards, generate dashboards, summarize performance data, and flag issues.

Required profile

• Proven experience in performance operations or people‑focused performance management.
• Comfortable leading hard conversations and delivering outcomes based on data.
• Strong ownership mindset; able to create systems that make the CEO’s day‑to‑day involvement unnecessary.
• Ability to work in a fast‑moving, distributed environment with teams in Chicago and LATAM.
