Physics Professor – Remote Task‑Based Contract

About the role

This is a short‑term, task‑based contract for a Physics expert to support the evaluation of large language models. The position is fully remote and requires up to 40 hours per week, with a minimum of four hours overlapping Pacific Standard Time.

Key responsibilities

• Design and solve challenging physics problems to assess and improve LLM performance.
• Produce clear, step‑by‑step solutions with well‑articulated reasoning.
• Collaborate with AI researchers to create evaluation tasks targeting model weaknesses.
• Help define new physics benchmarks covering undergraduate to PhD‑level topics.
• Provide detailed annotations, feedback, and reasoning for AI evaluation workflows.

Required profile

• Master’s, PhD, or post‑doctoral degree in Physics, Applied Physics, or a related field.
• Strong research, analytical, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Experience explaining complex physics concepts clearly.
• Self‑motivated, able to work independently in a remote setting.
