Project Accountant II

About the role

Worley is seeking a Project Accountant II to provide timely and accurate financial information for its energy, chemicals and resources projects. The role focuses on cost variance analysis, revenue recognition and the preparation of standard and management project reports.

Key responsibilities

• Investigate Estimate at Completion (EAC) cost variances and support forecast analysis in collaboration with project managers.
• Calculate percentage of completion (POC) for lump‑sum contracts and ensure compliant revenue recognition.
• Upload and maintain revenue events in the financial system, guaranteeing consistency between costs, progress and recognized revenue.
• Prepare standard project financial reports covering cost, revenue, margin and progress indicators.
• Support ad‑hoc management reporting and financial analysis requests.
• Run BR and other standard financial reports, perform routine accounting tasks, reconciliations and assist with month‑end close activities.

Required profile

• University degree or equivalent in a related discipline.
• Typically 5‑10 years of experience in project cost analysis, variance investigation and financial reporting.
• Strong analytical ability and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
• Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint.
