Project Management Specialist – Construction & Real Estate

About the role

FedEx is seeking a Project Management Specialist to coordinate design and construction of medium to large‑scale projects such as GSE buildings, ramp paving, and facilities expansions. The role ensures projects meet budget, schedule, corporate, and quality standards while handling real‑estate negotiations.

Key responsibilities

• Act as project management coordinator for construction and facilities expansion projects.
• Serve as project administrator for construction contracts, monitoring compliance with FedEx documentation.
• Review and approve construction progress payments and maintain accurate project records.
• Interface with engineering, construction, and other functional teams to coordinate schedules, budgets, and scope changes.
• Communicate project status and potential issues to the construction manager and recommend corrective actions.
• Coordinate involvement of airport relations, planning, fueling, real‑estate, industrial engineering, marketing, sales, and operations.
• Direct construction activities to ensure compliance with design documents and corporate/industry standards.
• Identify, secure, and negotiate lease agreements for facilities on and off airport sites.
• Develop real‑estate proposals in collaboration with finance, treasury, and ground operations for senior leadership review.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction.
• At least five years of professional experience in architectural, engineering, and construction disciplines, focusing on large‑scale project and capital project management.
• Strong knowledge of international environments, local government, and business practices.
• Excellent management, human‑relations, and communication abilities.
• Willingness to travel extensively internationally.
• Fluency in English and Spanish.
