Rebar Estimator

About the role

Turia GBS is looking for Rebar Estimators who will produce accurate and reliable quantity and cost estimates for reinforcing steel. This enables competitive proposals, reduces financial risk and supports proper project planning and execution.

Key responsibilities

• Calculate quantities of reinforcing bars and accessories from 2D drawings, 3D/BIM models and design specifications.
• Estimate weights, lengths, splices, laps, hooks, supports and waste factors in line with ACI, ASTM and project requirements.
• Develop detailed internal cost estimates covering materials, fabrication, transportation, installation labour and contingencies.
• Communicate with clients or general contractors to confirm scope, clarifications and exclusions, issuing RFIs as needed.
• Conduct peer reviews to check the accuracy, consistency and quality of estimates.
• Identify value engineering opportunities and potential construction or cost risks.
• Maintain a historical database of material prices and productivity factors.
• Coordinate with Detailing, Commercial, Procurement and Project Management teams to deliver complete estimate packages.
• Monitor steel, transportation and labour markets to keep pricing competitive.
• Promote continuous improvement by automating and standardising estimating tools and templates.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or a related field.
• Fluent conversational English (B2+, C1 or C2).
• 2 to 5 years of progressive experience in construction estimating, preconstruction or structural steel estimating.

Required skills

• Proficiency in at least one rebar estimation platform such as aSa Estimating, Shear 97, Soulé or RGS, or an equivalent.
