Record to Report Manager

About the role

Accenture is looking for an experienced Record to Report Manager in Medellin to lead accounting operations and ensure accurate preparation, review and reporting of financial statements in line with local regulations, international standards and SOX requirements. The role combines people leadership, client management, operational excellence and strategic oversight, driving continuous improvement, automation and process standardisation across accounting activities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop accounting teams, ensuring high-quality service delivery and compliance with agreed SLAs.
• Oversee month-end and year-end close, financial reporting and regulatory compliance.
• Partner with multinational clients and internal stakeholders to address business needs, resolve complex accounting issues and manage financial risks.
• Drive process optimisation, automation initiatives and implementation of accounting best practices.
• Monitor operational performance, project finances and team productivity to meet business and client objectives.
• Identify risks, implement mitigation plans and ensure compliance with internal controls and governance.
• Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture focused on innovation, continuous improvement and talent development.
• Take part in strategic discussions with senior leadership and clients to align priorities and deliver business value.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in Accounting, RTR, Financial Reporting or Shared Services operations.
• Proven experience leading large teams (over 100 resources) and managing complex global operations.
• Experience interacting with senior leadership and multinational clients.
• Ability to work independently, drive strategic initiatives and lead organisational change.
• Advanced English proficiency; additional language requirements may vary by client.
• Flexibility to support client holidays, extended hours, on-call activities and occasional international travel.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of GAAP, SOX, financial controls, compliance and process improvement.
• Experience with SAP ERP and multiple SAP modules.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making and stakeholder management skills.
