Remote Maths Teacher – Short‑Term Contract

About the role

We are seeking a highly qualified mathematics expert to work remotely on a short‑term contract. You will design and solve challenging mathematical problems that are used to evaluate large language models, providing clear, step‑by‑step solutions and detailed reasoning.

Key responsibilities

• Design and solve advanced mathematics problems for LLM evaluation benchmarks.
• Create clear, step‑by‑step solutions with thorough reasoning.
• Collaborate with LLM researchers to develop new evaluation benchmarks spanning undergraduate to PhD‑level mathematics.
• Analyze complex mathematical tasks using a logical, structured approach.
• Explain mathematical concepts using simple language, visuals, and examples.

Required profile

• Master’s, Ph.D., or currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
• Strong research and analytical abilities.
• Creative and lateral thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration in a remote work environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency in at least three of the following tools: Magma, Macaulay2, Singular, GAP, SageMath, Polymake, 4ti2, LattE, DIPHA, PHAT, AUTO-07P, XPPAUT, Perseus, Stan, PyMC, OR-Tools, Z3, PARI/GP, fpLLL.

What we offer

• Compensation of $450 per approved task.
• Short‑term contract lasting 11 weeks.
• Full‑time commitment of 8 hours per day with a 4‑hour overlap with PST.
• Fully remote work arrangement.
