Secondary Science Teacher

About the role

El Camino Academy, a non‑profit interdenominational Christian school in Bogotá, is seeking a full‑time Secondary Science Teacher. The teacher will deliver U.S. curriculum science and physics courses to middle‑ and high‑school students in English, fostering both academic excellence and spiritual growth.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver engaging, standards‑based science and physics lessons for secondary students.
• Assess student learning, provide constructive feedback and maintain accurate grade records.
• Develop and adapt instructional materials, integrating educational technology where appropriate.
• Collaborate with fellow teachers, participate in staff meetings, and engage in professional development.
• Communicate regularly with families and guardians about student progress.
• Model Christian values and contribute to a safe, inclusive, culturally responsive classroom environment.

Required profile

• Qualified teacher with appropriate certification or licensure and experience in secondary education.
• Strong expertise in science education, capable of teaching both general science and physics.
• Excellent communication skills in English for instruction and professional interaction.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Science Education or a related field; experience in international or multicultural schools is a plus.
• Alignment with El Camino Academy’s Christian mission and values.
