Senior Accountant – Remote (Colombia)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Accountant to lead month‑end close activities and own end‑to‑end accounts payable operations. The role blends strong technical accounting expertise with hands‑on AP ownership, requiring tight deadline management and real‑time collaboration with our U.S. accounting leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Execute full‑cycle month‑end close within a 4‑day window, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations and analysis.
• Manage complex intercompany reconciliations and ensure proper elimination of subsidiary balances.
• Oversee AP processes: invoice processing, vendor reconciliations, payment runs, credit‑card processing and exception resolution.
• Prepare balance‑sheet reconciliations and support quarterly/annual audit requests.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies between the AP sub‑ledger and general ledger.
• Maintain accruals and other balance‑sheet accounts.
• Document accounting processes and internal controls to satisfy SOX and audit requirements.
• Collaborate with the Accounting Manager, Senior Manager of Accounting and a fellow Senior Accountant on deadlines and reporting standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 4‑5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including month‑end close ownership.
• Public accounting or public‑company experience (audit/assurance).
• Hands‑on NetSuite experience.
• Demonstrated AP operations experience (invoice‑to‑pay cycle).
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP.
• Fluent, near‑native English for daily communication with U.S. team.
• CPA or local equivalent is a plus.
