Senior AI Engineer – Remote (Colombia)

About the role

Cadre AI is looking for a Senior AI Engineer to lead the development of production‑grade AI systems for B2B clients across private equity, real estate, lending and SaaS. This remote, full‑time position is based in Colombia and requires fluent English (C1).

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement complex backend AI modules, including custom agentic workflows, multi‑step reasoning chains and tool‑use pipelines.
• Translate architectural blueprints from AI strategists into high‑performance, production‑ready code with robust error handling, observability and latency targets.
• Own end‑to‑end delivery of AI components, from scaffolding through deployment, ensuring reliable operation in client environments.
• Architect, optimise and maintain Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines over unstructured, multi‑modal data, selecting appropriate chunking, embedding and re‑ranking techniques.
• Implement and tune vector database solutions tailored to query patterns, data volume and latency requirements.
• Build and sustain agentic systems, managing tool selection, memory architecture and failure recovery while respecting context‑window constraints.
• Identify recurring client needs and abstract reusable internal tools to accelerate future deliveries.

Required profile

• Deep experience building production LLM‑based systems and fine‑tuning RAG pipelines.
• Proven ability to debug and optimise agentic chains under pressure.
• Strong focus on technical execution with minimal hand‑offs.
• Track record of turning prototype concepts into scalable, production‑grade solutions.
