Senior Backend Java Engineer

About the role

Your role as a Senior Software Engineer at PALO IT is to design and implement high‑quality backend systems that enable innovative digital solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable backend solutions using Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture.
• Implement, test, and maintain RESTful APIs, ensuring performance, scalability, and security.
• Employ agile methodologies, participating in sprint ceremonies and code reviews to maintain code quality.
• Collaborate with solution architects and business analysts to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Mentor junior developers and share knowledge through workshops, presentations, and community initiatives.
• Continuously improve development processes by identifying optimization opportunities and implementing automation.

Required profile

• At least 6 years of professional software development experience with a focus on backend technologies.
• Proficient in Java (8+), Spring Boot, RESTful API design, JPA, and microservices architecture.
• Hands‑on experience with SQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins.
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Strong communication skills in English and Spanish for effective collaboration in diverse teams.
