Senior Beverages Application Specialist

About the role

Givaudan is looking for a Senior Beverages Application Specialist in Bogota to take part in flavour application and provide technical expertise that drives operational excellence and improves client delivery systems, within the Beverages segment and in line with EH&S policies. The role reports to the Technical Group Leader at the Bogota site, with a hybrid arrangement of 4 days in the office and 1 day remote.

Key responsibilities

• Complete daily brief-related tasks such as flavour selection, product evaluation and application development.
• Lead evaluations of flavours in food applications for briefs, research projects and portfolio reviews.
• Select flavours for projects according to customer, regulatory, legislative and cost requirements, and suggest improvements for common applications.
• Identify suitable flavour delivery systems and technologies for customer projects.
• Act as a technical expert and advisor to marketing, sales, flavour creation and customers, and coach, train and motivate technicians and technologists.
• Maintain flavour performance data for the flavour portfolio through finished-product evaluation and profile capture.
• Keep the lab safe, clean and organised according to EH&S policies and hold others accountable.

Required profile

• Degree in Food Science, Chemistry or Biology.
• 5+ years of experience in a food applications lab, production, R&D or a related area, including 3 years in the beverages segment.
• Practical experience in customers' food manufacturing environments and understanding of food applications, ingredients and processes.
• Experience with flavour reactions and interactions in common food products.
• Project management skills and experience taking part in customer projects, including customer visits.
