About the role
Howard Financial is seeking a hands‑on Senior Controller to lead its consumer‑industry accounting portfolio. The role blends technical accounting expertise, people leadership, and strategic partnership with clients.
Key responsibilities
- Own the full accounting cycle and drive month‑end/quarter‑end close processes.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals.
- Design and implement AI‑driven automation initiatives to streamline workflows.
- Serve as the primary accounting contact for consumer‑industry clients, building relationships and presenting financial results.
- Oversee accounting operations across the consumer portfolio, ensuring consistency and accuracy.
Required profile
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including hands‑on controller or senior accounting leadership.
- Deep knowledge of the consumer industry (CPG, retail, or related).
- Proven track record implementing accounting automations or AI‑based process improvements.
- Strong client‑facing and communication abilities.
- CPA preferred; ERP proficiency required.
