Senior Controller

About the role

Trillium Digital Services is seeking a highly experienced Senior Controller to lead its accounting operations remotely from Colombia. The role focuses on ensuring US GAAP compliance, strengthening internal controls, and providing strategic financial insights to support business decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting operations, including monthly close, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Ensure full compliance with US GAAP and relevant regulatory requirements.
• Lead and enhance internal controls, audit processes, and risk management frameworks.
• Provide strategic financial insights and partner with leadership for decision‑making.
• Manage and optimise accounting systems and workflows, including ERP and cloud‑based tools such as QuickBooks Online.
• Oversee or support payroll setup and administration using platforms like Gusto or Deel.
• Support cash‑flow management, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency across multiple entities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field (CPA preferred).
• 15–20+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience.
• Background in a Big 4 accounting firm or similarly rigorous environment.
• Experience in consulting environments or supporting multi‑entity businesses.
• Strong analytical abilities and excellent communication skills in English.

Required skills

• Deep expertise in US GAAP.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks Online.
• Experience with ERP or cloud‑based accounting systems.
• Hands‑on experience setting up or managing payroll systems such as Gusto or Deel.
