Senior Data Engineer Lead – Azure & Databricks

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer Lead to design, build and maintain scalable data products and pipelines on Microsoft Azure and Azure Databricks, supporting international banking initiatives. The role combines deep technical expertise with team leadership, ensuring secure, high‑quality lakehouse solutions across multiple markets.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and optimise data pipelines and lakehouse solutions using Azure Databricks, Delta Lake and Medallion Architecture.
• Lead end‑to‑end technical design and delivery of data engineering initiatives from concept to production.
• Mentor and coach a team of Data Engineers through code reviews and technical guidance.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Data Scientists, Architects and Engineering teams to build scalable data products.
• Implement best practices for data governance, security, compliance and access management.
• Monitor platform reliability, performance, data quality and cost efficiency.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Data Science or related field.
• 5+ years of data engineering experience, with at least 3 years on Azure/Azure Databricks.
• Proven experience leading technical projects and mentoring engineering teams.
• Strong English communication skills (B2+).
