Senior FullStack (Go/TypeScript) Engineer - Remote Colombia

About the role

Kake is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join its technology team, which provides technology-driven solutions across health, employee benefits, insurance, HR and financial services. The role is remote and open to Colombia, with 6-8 hours of overlap with US timezones. It suits someone with a strong background in building and evolving scalable, production-grade software, who contributes to architecture, technical direction and engineering decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain scalable, reliable and maintainable software solutions.
• Develop backend services and APIs primarily in Go, and contribute to applications and services in TypeScript.
• Build and work with cloud-based applications and services.
• Contribute to system architecture and technical design, evaluating trade-offs and shaping long-term technical solutions.
• Take ownership of complex technical initiatives from definition through delivery.
• Troubleshoot complex technical challenges and improve system performance, reliability, security and quality.
• Collaborate with engineers, product teams and stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Contribute to engineering standards, best practices and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience with a strong track record of building and supporting production systems.
• Strong experience with software architecture, system design, APIs and distributed systems.
• Ability to take ownership of complex technical initiatives and make sound engineering decisions.
• Ability to work independently while knowing when to collaborate or escalate.
• Experience with modern development, testing, deployment and version-control practices.
• Nice to have: experience in healthcare, health benefits, insurance or regulated, data-sensitive environments.
