Senior Software Developer (TypeScript, Node.js)

About the role

A team plans in sprints and uses AI-assisted development every day, looking for a Senior Software Developer to build automations and production applications in TypeScript and Node.js on PaaS platforms and standard stacks. The role is development first; platform experience helps but will be taught. The developer owns their work from design to release, with strong engineering, clear English and disciplined task management.

Key responsibilities

• Build automations connecting customer systems via APIs: integrations, webhooks, scheduled jobs and data sync.
• Build and maintain production applications on PaaS platforms and standard Node.js and TypeScript stacks.
• Take features from requirement to release in sprints: design, code, tests, review and deploy.
• Write short technical designs covering data model, APIs, security and failure cases.
• Deliver custom builds and automations for customers within an agreed scope and estimate.
• Reproduce and fix customer defects, find the root cause and write clear updates.
• Review code and mentor trainee and junior developers.
• Help the team build shared Claude Code skills, commands and workflows.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional software development.
• Experience designing features and small systems end to end and explaining trade-offs.
• Sprint experience with Scrum or Kanban: estimating, breaking features into work items and keeping status current.
• Strong task management: planning the day, logging time and flagging risks early.
• English at C1 level or higher, written and spoken, working directly with US customers.
• Lives in Bogotá and can work on-site Monday to Thursday.

Required skills

• TypeScript and modern JavaScript in production.
• Node.js back-end: REST APIs, third-party integrations, authentication (OAuth 2.0, API tokens) and async processing.
• Docker: building images, running multi-service setups locally and using containers in CI.
• Git and pull-request workflow with code review on both sides.
• Automated testing with Jest, Vitest or similar.
• Daily use of AI coding tools such as Claude Code, including writing reusable skills and commands and reviewing generated code critically.

Nice to have: PaaS platforms (serverless, app frameworks, managed storage), REST, GraphQL, webhooks, OAuth 2.0 and rate limits, AWS or Azure cloud and infrastructure as code, Playwright/Puppeteer/Selenium, Python scripting, React, CI/CD in GitHub Actions or Bitbucket Pipelines, and experience shipping a SaaS or marketplace app. All customer communication and documentation is in English.
