Senior Software Engineer (Machine Learning)

About the role

Fusemachines is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with deep machine‑learning expertise to design, build, and deploy high‑performance ML systems. The role spans the full ML lifecycle, from massive data processing to low‑latency model serving, and requires production‑grade software engineering practices.

Key responsibilities

• Engineer scalable data pipelines and feature stores for terabyte‑scale, sparse bid‑stream and user‑event data using SQL, Python and distributed frameworks such as Spark or Ray.
• Develop and maintain both offline and online feature pipelines, ensuring zero skew between training and serving data.
• Design, train, and tune supervised models with gradient‑boosting libraries (XGBoost, LightGBM, CatBoost) and factorization machines.
• Build deep‑learning architectures for structured and recommendation data using PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Implement real‑time inference APIs that meet strict latency and throughput requirements.
• Perform rigorous data quality checks, including missingness analysis, leakage detection, and safe handling of high‑cardinality categorical variables.

Required profile

• Proven experience building production‑grade ML systems and scalable APIs.
• Strong background in software engineering with a focus on performance, reliability, and maintainability.
• Ability to work independently in a remote, fully distributed environment.
