Senior Software Engineer - Payments

About the role

PayJoy is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, high‑performance applications that power its payments and financing platform.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain backend services using Django and frontend components with Vue.js.
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs, microservices, and integrations with internal and external systems.
• Design, optimize, and maintain PostgreSQL databases, ensuring performance, scalability, and data integrity.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, QA, and Engineering teams to deliver high‑quality software solutions.
• Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, testing, and Agile ceremonies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years of professional experience as a Software Engineer.
• Strong proficiency in software engineering principles, design patterns, and modern development practices.

• Python and Django

• PostgreSQL (or MySQL) schema design, query optimization, and performance tuning
