Senior Staff Software Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Staff Software Engineer to join our Back End team as a senior individual contributor. This fully remote position based in Colombia offers the chance to shape architecture, set standards, and influence multiple teams while delivering high‑impact features for our global customers.

Key responsibilities

• Define and evolve technical architecture, establishing safe, scalable, and reusable capabilities across teams.
• Act as a technical leader through design reviews, RFCs, and hands‑on collaboration.
• Own key features and architectural improvements end‑to‑end, from design through build.
• Lead proof‑of‑concepts that inform roadmap and architectural decisions.
• Address complex, business‑critical challenges such as third‑party extensibility and real‑time multi‑user synchronization.
• Partner with QA, Product, Security, and domain experts to ensure observability, reliability, and quality.
• Promote engineering standards, improve consistency, security, and maintainability.
• Drive operational excellence by identifying systemic risks and eliminating root causes.
• Collaborate with DevOps and Security to evolve CI/CD pipelines and deployment strategies.
• Mentor senior and junior engineers through code reviews and technical guidance.
• Participate in production support as a senior escalation point.
• Champion responsible use of AI‑assisted development tools, define standards, evaluate new tools, and measure impact on velocity and quality.

Required profile

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proven ability to influence architectural decisions across multiple teams.
• Strong mentorship skills for senior and junior engineers.
• Experience leading proof‑of‑concepts and tackling complex, business‑critical problems.
• Comfort working in an agile, cross‑functional environment.
