Senior Systems Engineer – Automation & AI Leadership

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to drive an automate‑first culture across our GTIO team. You will design reusable IaC frameworks, champion AI‑augmented development, and own the end‑to‑end lifecycle of our infrastructure and container platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Lead automation initiatives using Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell and Python, enforcing IaC‑first PR governance.
• Promote AI tools (GitHub Copilot, Claude, AIOps platforms) and define standards for AI‑assisted development, code review and documentation.
• Manage VMware vSphere/ESXi, Nutanix HCI, Citrix DaaS and NetScaler environments, including design, deployment, upgrades and capacity planning.
• Oversee Veeam backup strategy, DR testing, and Windows/Linux administration at scale.
• Design, deploy and operate Docker workloads and Kubernetes clusters (on‑prem, AKS, EKS, GKE) with image governance, RBAC and networking.
• Own observability stacks (Grafana, Nagios), lead RCA, and implement self‑healing workflows.
• Mentor team members through code reviews, pairing, and creation of runbooks and playbooks.
• Define storage strategy for NetApp, HPE Alletra and Pure Storage across SAN/NAS environments.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience in large‑scale infrastructure automation and cloud‑native platforms.
• Proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams and drive cultural change toward automation and AI adoption.
• Strong analytical skills with a focus on eliminating manual operational work.
• Excellent communication skills for documentation, standards definition and mentorship.
