Senior Systems & Infrastructure Engineer

About the role

The Senior Systems & Infrastructure Engineer will be based on‑site in Medellín and will design, implement and maintain the core IT infrastructure that powers VSS’s global operations. Reporting to the IT leadership team, you will ensure high availability, reliability and performance of servers, storage, virtualization and network services across production and corporate environments.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deploy and manage physical and virtual servers, storage solutions and virtualization platforms.
• Perform system administration for Windows Server and Linux environments, including user and access management.
• Implement and enforce security best practices, harden systems and respond to security incidents.
• Monitor infrastructure health, troubleshoot complex system, network and performance issues.
• Manage backup, disaster recovery and business continuity procedures.
• Support network connectivity, routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs and WAN/LAN configurations.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams on infrastructure projects and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.

Required profile

• Strong experience designing, deploying and maintaining servers, storage and virtualization platforms.
• Advanced system administration skills for Windows Server and Linux.
• Solid networking knowledge (routing, switching, firewalls, VPN, WAN/LAN).
• Hands‑on experience with network security hardening and incident response.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or related field, or equivalent experience.
