Senior Threat Hunter

About the role

As a Senior Threat Hunter you will join the security operations team of a large US consumer lender, working from AspenView’s secure suite in Bogotá, Medellín or Buenos Aires. You will design and run hypothesis‑driven hunts across endpoint, identity, network, email and AWS telemetry, turning raw intelligence into actionable detections.

Key responsibilities

• Design hunts from threat intelligence, map attacker tradecraft to MITRE ATT&CK, and select appropriate data sources and timeframes.
• Execute scheduled and ad‑hoc hunts across CrowdStrike, Defender, Okta, Palo Alto, Proofpoint and AWS data in Elastic, pivot quickly on promising leads and separate real findings from noise.
• Partner with Detection Engineering to hand over detections, document logging gaps and ensure hunts mature into production detection rules.
• Produce clear, reproducible hunt reports, walk the client’s security team through findings in English and document hunts for future reuse.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in threat hunting, Tier 3 investigation or incident response, with end‑to‑end hunt ownership.
• Strong querying skills across Elastic, Splunk or Microsoft Sentinel and deep knowledge of living‑off‑the‑land, credential abuse, lateral movement and cloud control‑plane abuse.
• Confidence presenting findings directly to a US client’s security team and interest in progressing to a lead role.
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher, ability to work onsite during US Eastern business hours.
• Willingness to undergo background, identity and education checks and work in a clean‑desk, VDI‑only environment.
