Site Reliability Engineer

About the role

EPAM is looking for a proactive Site Reliability Engineer to enhance the reliability, scalability, and safety of its production environments. You will work at the intersection of software development and operations, using automation, observability, and incident response to reduce downtime and enable fast, safe releases.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
• Build and optimise CI/CD pipelines to automate deployments and operational workflows.
• Implement logging, monitoring, and alerting to improve system observability and reliability.
• Define, track, and report Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and Service Level Indicators (SLIs).
• Respond to production incidents, lead blameless post‑mortems, and drive rapid service restoration.
• Partner with engineering teams to improve performance, scalability, and capacity planning.
• Automate repetitive operational tasks to reduce toil and operational risk.
• Harden production environments to improve resilience and support safe change practices.

Required profile

• 2+ years of experience in site reliability engineering, DevOps, or systems administration.
• Strong troubleshooting and incident response leadership skills in production environments.
• Solid project coordination abilities to work with software development teams.
• Advanced English proficiency (C1 level or higher).

Required skills

• Infrastructure as Code with Terraform or CloudFormation.
• CI/CD pipeline development and optimisation.
• Scripting or programming in Python, Bash, Go, or Rust.
• Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Containerisation with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Linux/Unix administration and networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, SSL/TLS).
• Observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog (nice to have).
