Software Engineer – Linux Infrastructure & Cloud

About the role

Capgemini is looking for a Software Engineer to design, implement and maintain Linux‑based infrastructure that supports our development and operations teams. You will work in a global, AI‑driven environment, helping leading organisations unlock technology value while contributing to a more sustainable and inclusive world.

Key responsibilities

• Implement, maintain, and continuously improve the infrastructure used by development and operations teams.
• Design, deploy and manage Linux servers, operating system upgrades and security patching.
• Configure and troubleshoot networking components including TCP/IP, IP routing, NAT and firewalls.
• Manage network services such as DNS, LDAP and HTTP proxies.
• Apply IT security best practices and perform OS hardening.
• Develop automation scripts using Shell, Perl, Python or Go.
• Utilise configuration management tools like Ansible and Chef.
• Operate large‑scale server environments in public clouds (Azure, AWS, GCP).

Required profile

• Strong background in Linux server operating systems.
• Hands‑on experience with OS operations, upgrades and security patching.
• Solid networking knowledge (TCP/IP, routing, NAT, firewalls).
• Experience with DNS, LDAP and HTTP proxy services.
• Good understanding of IT security and OS hardening techniques.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (Shell, Perl, Python, Go).
• Familiarity with automation tools such as Ansible or Chef.
• Experience managing server workloads in large environments and public cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP).
