Staff Accountant

About the role

The Staff Accountant will support the Accounting Supervisor in daily and monthly accounting activities, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with GAAP and IFRS. This role involves processing journal entries, performing reconciliations, and assisting with month‑end and year‑end close processes.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the general ledger by recording transactions and reconciling accounts.
• Prepare financial statements such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Support month‑end and year‑end close by preparing journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Assist in updating accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Participate in special projects including audits, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Respond to internal and external inquiries related to accounting matters.
• Provide additional support to the accounting team as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting or finance.
• Proficiency in English and Spanish (B2+ oral and written).
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication abilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Required skills

• Experience with accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, or SAP.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Knowledge of GAAP and IFRS accounting standards.
