Staff Accountant

About the role

The Staff Accountant will support the financial operations of a real‑estate investment firm by preparing accurate financial statements, maintaining the general ledger, and assisting with month‑end and year‑end close processes. This remote, full‑time position is essential for ensuring compliance with accounting standards and strengthening internal financial controls.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements for multiple property assets.
• Enter and reconcile general‑ledger transactions, and support month‑end and year‑end close activities.
• Perform monthly account reconciliations and investigate any discrepancies.
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts, including variance analysis.
• Track property‑related expenses, capital expenditures, rent collections, and tenant deposits.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, process invoices, post payments, and handle vendor relationships.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and relevant financial regulations.
• Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation.
• Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes and controls.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in real‑estate, property management, or investment firms.

Required skills

• Proficiency with real‑estate accounting software.
