Supply Chain Officer (P)

About the role

Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission and direct supervision of the Resources Management Officer, the Supply Chain Officer will be responsible for supply chain activities, ensuring quality goods and services are delivered to beneficiaries at optimal price and in a timely manner.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to strategic planning for supply‑chain activities and conduct logistics capacity assessments and market research.
• Coordinate and monitor all SCM‑related tasks, including planning, budgeting, procurement, warehouse management, transport, fleet, assets and facilities management.
• Identify bottlenecks, propose process optimisations, and maintain a pool of qualified vendors.
• Solicit bids, oversee tender processes, evaluate offers, and prepare purchase orders in line with the delegation of authority matrix.
• Provide technical support for programme calls for proposals, ensure transparent bidding, and submit required reports to regional and headquarters offices.
• Establish internal control mechanisms, support maintenance of office facilities, and deliver training to SCM staff.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Procurement or related field with two years relevant experience, or Bachelor’s degree with four years relevant experience.
• Proven experience managing diverse procurement and logistics operations and supervising teams, vendors and suppliers.

Required skills

• Oracle (experience with Oracle procurement/logistics modules).
• Computer literacy (proficient use of standard office and procurement software).
