Tax & Accounting Manager (Remote)

About the role

We are looking for a Tax & Accounting Manager to act as a trusted advisor for a portfolio of business clients. Working remotely, you will combine technical tax expertise with client relationship management to support informed financial decisions and long‑term growth.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as primary advisor for 50+ clients, providing proactive monthly communication.
• Manage monthly accounting and tax processes and deliver financial statements with insights by the 25th of each month.
• Prepare tax projections, review and file business, individual and trust tax returns.
• Onboard new clients using established processes and transition routine work to staff accountants.
• Supervise, mentor and develop staff accountants.
• Leverage technology and AI tools to improve efficiency and strengthen client relationships.

Required profile

• 5+ years of accounting and tax experience, including preparation and review of Forms 1040, 1065, 1120 and 1120S.
• CPA or EA certification preferred.
• Experience in a small CPA firm and strong understanding of small‑business accounting and tax requirements.
• Knowledge of federal, state and local tax regulations.
• Client‑first mindset with high accountability and ownership.
• Strong analytical, communication and active‑listening skills, high attention to detail and adaptability in a fast‑paced environment.
