Tax Compliance Manager Americas

About the role

Opella is seeking a Tax & Compliance Manager for the Americas region to ensure tax processes run smoothly at both local and Global Business Services (GBS) levels. You will be responsible for overseeing tax accounting, reporting, and compliance while collaborating with IT to implement and improve tools.

Key responsibilities

• Execute monthly tax closing and reporting according to the group timetable.
• Perform tax calculations including VAT, WHT, Intrastat, MyTax, country income tax, and deferred tax.
• Prepare and file tax returns at both group and country levels.
• Manage A2R master data (PCoA, tax MD) and ensure data quality.
• Supervise and coach junior accountants, providing expertise and guidance.
• Support country finance heads on tax matters and contribute to process improvements.
• Ensure compliance with CHC policies, internal controls, and audit/SOX requirements.
• Participate in tax audits and prepare ad‑hoc tax reports and analyses.

Required profile

• Strong experience in tax accounting and reporting.
• Knowledge of IFRS and statutory GAAP for income and deferred tax calculations.
• Ability to supervise junior staff and work cross‑functionally.
• Familiarity with GBS Core Model processes.

Required skills

• SAP (iShift, CEP) functionalities.
• MyTax tax calculation tool.
• Expertise in indirect taxes such as VAT, WHT, Intrastat.
• Master data management (PCoA, tax MD).
