Tax Senior Assistant

About the role

TMF Group is seeking a Tax Senior Assistant to join its Colombian tax team. The role focuses on ensuring full compliance with local tax regulations while supporting clients and internal stakeholders with accurate tax reporting and analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the preparation, review, and timely filing of tax returns, including VAT (IVA), ICA, corporate income tax, withholding taxes, and other statutory obligations.
• Prepare tax provisions, deferred tax calculations, and reconcile accounting and tax bases.
• Monitor changes in Colombian tax law and implement updates in internal processes and client deliverables.
• Act as primary contact for clients, tax authorities, and internal teams, providing guidance on tax matters.
• Lead and support internal and external tax audits, preparing documentation and responding to queries.
• Ensure alignment between accounting records and tax reporting, reconciling tax accounts and identifying discrepancies.
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce risk.
• Mentor junior team members on tax compliance procedures and best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience focused on tax compliance, preferably in a BPO/SSC environment.
