US Tax Accountant – Remote (Colombia)

About the role

We are looking for a US Tax Accountant to join our remote team based in Colombia. You will be the trusted expert who guides clients through complex tax compliance and planning during the critical filing season.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review multi‑entity returns (Forms 1065, 1120, 1120‑S) including K‑1s, capital accounts and basis calculations.
• Complete individual returns (Form 1040) with schedules, capital gains, passive activity loss tracking and carry‑forward management.
• Handle multi‑state and SALT apportionment, nexus updates and related elections.
• Identify and document tax credits, elections and depreciation options (Form 4562, §199A, R&D, §179).
• Build audit‑ready workpapers, manage e‑file submissions, extensions and notice responses.
• Maintain calendar discipline across busy‑season checkpoints and off‑season planning.
• Mentor junior staff and collaborate with US‑based teams to improve processes and automation.
