Wind Energy Analyst

About the role

As a Wind Energy Analyst you will support utility‑scale renewable projects by assessing wind resources, estimating energy production, and evaluating project performance. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver technical analyses that guide design, development, and optimization of wind farms.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze meteorological and operational wind‑farm data using specialized software and internal methodologies.
• Perform wind resource assessments and energy yield calculations for existing and proposed projects.
• Conduct wind‑flow modeling with CFD, mesoscale models, and tools such as OpenWind or Meteodyn.
• Evaluate turbine selection, layout optimization, and performance metrics to maximize output and reduce risk.
• Carry out shadow‑flicker, noise, and climate suitability studies.
• Manage and analyze geospatial data using GIS tools.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and client deliverables.
• Provide technical guidance to clients and mentor junior team members.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Meteorology, Mathematics, Statistics, Renewable Energy, Atmospheric or Environmental Sciences, or a related technical discipline.
• 6–9 years of professional experience in wind energy, renewable resource assessment, or meteorological analysis.
• Proven track record of delivering wind resource assessments and energy production estimates for utility‑scale projects.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Python and/or MATLAB for data analysis and modeling.
• Experience with wind‑flow modeling software such as OpenWind or Meteodyn.
• Strong GIS capabilities for geospatial data handling.
• Knowledge of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and mesoscale modeling techniques.
