Air Freight Operations Expert (AFR OAM)

About the role

The Expert AFR (OAM) is responsible for administering Air Freight (AFR) operations and customer‑service processes, ensuring seamless movement of goods while meeting profitability, quality and regulatory standards. You will act as the first point of contact for customers, delivering accurate shipment information and resolving issues promptly.

Key responsibilities

• Take ownership of transport orders, ensure timely pickup and optimise booking processes.
• Prepare, control and distribute documentation in line with origin export and destination import regulations.
• Collaborate with internal counterparts to validate and finalise documents, assigning tasks and monitoring performance.
• Provide exceptional customer service, delivering shipment status, documentation requirements, incident resolution and pricing information.
• Record, track and resolve operational exceptions, proactively updating customers.
• Maintain company system and commodity certifications and ensure correct cost and revenue capture.
• Forward quotation requests to the Quotations team and pass leads to Sales.
• Support urgent or critical situations during weekends when required.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year of experience in air freight forwarding.
• Strong understanding of air regulations, documentation and Incoterms.
• Proactive, solution‑oriented attitude with a “can‑do” mindset.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong written/oral English communication.
• Prior customer‑service experience is preferred.
• Students or professionals in industrial engineering, international business or related fields are welcome.

Required skills

• Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel).
• Experience with Cargo Wise Transportation Management System.
