Cyber Security Analyst – Remote (LATAM) – Freelance

About the role

ALIANDO is seeking a skilled Cyber Security Analyst to join its remote team serving Latin America clients. This freelance position focuses on monitoring, investigating, and improving security posture using Microsoft’s security stack.

Key responsibilities

• Investigate and respond to incidents using Microsoft Sentinel.
• Analyze and correlate alerts from Microsoft Defender and related technologies.
• Conduct proactive threat hunting and detection activities.
• Develop and refine detection rules, analytics, and monitoring use cases.
• Participate in automation initiatives (Logic Apps/SOAR) and improve logging, visibility, and security controls.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, systems, and cloud teams to ensure secure configurations.
• Help evolve SOC procedures, workflows, and capabilities.
• Communicate findings and recommendations to both technical and non‑technical audiences.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a SOC environment (L2 or advanced L1).
• Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Sentinel and KQL.
• Operational knowledge of Microsoft Defender XDR technologies.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure and/or Microsoft 365 from admin and security perspectives.
• Strong understanding of Windows systems, networking, and identity/access control.
• Analytical mindset, technical autonomy, and solid problem‑solving skills.
• English proficiency at C1 level.
• One or more certifications such as SC‑200, AZ‑500, SC‑300, Security+, GCIH, MS‑102, or AZ‑104.
