HR Manager & Operations Lead – Remote (Nuclear & Utilities Staffing)

About the role

Staffor Consulting is seeking a dedicated HR professional to own and build its human‑resources function on a fully remote basis. Reporting directly to the President, you will shape compliance, contractor management, and recruitment processes for a growing team serving the nuclear power and utilities sector.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end contractor compliance, including I‑9 verification, background checks, and document expiration tracking for 40+ consultants.
• Submit candidate profiles in client VMS portals under tight submission windows (as short as 90 minutes).
• Oversee ATS administration: placement records, job orders, pipeline tracking, and consultant lifecycle management.
• Serve as primary contact for payroll coordination, timesheet management, and consultant relations.
• Design HR policies, SOPs, and operational frameworks from scratch.
• Conduct quarterly MSP compliance audits with Tier 1 workforce management programs.
• Coordinate and eventually lead a recruiting team as the company scales.

Required profile

• 5+ years of HR experience, with at least 2 years in staffing, MSP, or contractor management.
• Demonstrated compliance discipline (I‑9, background checks, audit preparation).
• Ability to work under strict deadlines and treat urgent issues as critical.
• Strong written English communication skills.
• Availability for full‑time (8 am‑5 pm EST) remote work.
