Java Android Developer – Latin America

About the role

We are looking for a skilled Android Developer to design, build, and maintain high‑quality native Android applications for the Latin American market. You will work closely with front‑end engineers and architects to ensure performance, security, and reliability of our mobile products.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain native Android applications in Java, writing clean, well‑structured code that follows platform conventions.
• Build intuitive, accessible user interfaces using Material Design principles with XML layouts or Jetpack Compose.
• Integrate back‑end RESTful APIs using Retrofit and OkHttp, handling errors, retries, and offline scenarios.
• Manage local data persistence with Room, SQLite, or SharedPreferences, including migrations and complex queries.
• Implement push notifications, analytics, and crash reporting via Firebase services (FCM, Analytics, Crashlytics).
• Write unit and instrumented tests with JUnit, Espresso, and Mockito to ensure reliable app behavior across devices.
• Profile and optimise app performance focusing on battery usage, memory consumption, and smooth UI rendering.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of professional experience developing native Android apps in Java, with published apps or significant project experience.
• Strong knowledge of the Android SDK, Android Studio IDE, and Gradle build system.
• Hands‑on experience with Jetpack libraries such as ViewModel, LiveData, Navigation, and WorkManager.
• Proficiency integrating REST APIs using Retrofit and OkHttp, with robust error handling.
• Experience with local data storage solutions (Room, SQLite) and Firebase services.
• Fluency in English; Russian language skills are a plus.
