Legal Counsel Specialist – LATAM (Bogota)

About the role

Join Align’s LATAM Legal Team as a Legal Counsel Specialist based in Bogota. You will act as the primary legal partner for the region, providing commercial‑focused advice, managing contracts, and ensuring compliance across a variety of business activities.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the main point of contact for all legal matters within the assigned business unit.
• Negotiate, draft, and review a wide range of commercial contracts, including intellectual property licenses and marketing technology agreements.
• Review marketing, pricing, and promotional materials for legal compliance.
• Provide counsel, training, and guidance on corporate legal issues and risk management.
• Ensure adherence to Align’s contract management process and internal policies.
• Supervise, develop, and mentor junior legal staff.
• Collaborate with the global legal team to share best practices and maintain consistency.
• Support compliance, internal audit investigations, and litigation management.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years post‑degree legal experience with top academic credentials.
• Admission to practice law in Colombia.
• Experience in a law firm, in‑house, or a combination of both, preferably within a multinational environment.
• Ability to think critically, resolve complex issues quickly, and manage a significant workload independently.
• Willingness to travel up to 10 % of the time.

Required skills

• Expertise in advertising law, consumer protection, licensing, intellectual property, contracts, and business law.
• Knowledge of state, national, and international privacy regulations as they relate to marketing and advertising.
• Strong negotiation, drafting, and legal research abilities.
