SEO & AI Search Optimization Specialist

About the role

As an SEO & AI Search Optimization Specialist you will drive Profound’s organic visibility across classic search engines and emerging AI‑powered discovery channels. You will improve rankings, traffic quality, and conversion impact while ensuring our clients’ content is structured for AI systems to surface and cite confidently.

Key responsibilities

• Own and execute backlink strategies and build comprehensive SEO plans (technical, on‑page, off‑page) aligned with business goals.
• Run SEO audits, translate findings into prioritized roadmaps, and collaborate with developers to implement best practices such as indexation, performance, internal linking, and structured data.
• Partner with copywriters and strategists to enhance content quality, intent match, and information architecture.
• Track performance, produce clear reports, and deliver actionable recommendations.
• Optimize content for AI features (e.g., AI summaries), improve answerability, and implement structured data to boost machine readability.
• Maintain AI‑accessibility basics (crawlability, indexation hygiene) and, where relevant, add /llms.txt layers.
• Work with marketing/PR to strengthen off‑site authority signals through mentions, citations, and reputable references.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of professional SEO experience, including backlink management.
• Strong written and spoken English.
• Ability to translate data into concrete actions and communicate across development, content, and marketing teams.
• Curiosity and adaptability to evolving algorithms and SEO trends.
• Comfortable working in collaborative, cross‑functional environments.
• Nice to have: experience with entity SEO/knowledge graph and measuring visibility beyond clicks (SERP features, AI citations, brand monitoring).
