Software Development Engineer – COBOL & DB2

About the role

We are seeking a Software Development Engineer who will design, develop, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL and DB2. The role is fully remote and supports CSG’s product portfolio, collaborating with QA, Business Analysts, and customers.

Key responsibilities

• Write, modify, and debug COBOL code for CSG product applications.
• Perform bug verification, release testing, and beta support for assigned products.
• Review feature requests with stakeholders and ensure successful delivery.
• Collaborate with developers and QA teams on complex client implementations and production issues.
• Participate in cross‑team meetings focused on release and solution planning.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 4 years of professional COBOL development experience.
• Experience with mainframe tools such as DB2, SQL, T‑SQL, JCL/PROCS, and PowerShell.
• Proven ability to work in an Agile/Lean environment.
• Fluent English communication skills in a business setting.
